Calling all mini cooks, join us for a monthly culinary adventure filled with fun, flavour and creativity.
Each month, we’ll explore a new theme.
October: Onigiri - Onigiri is a Japanese rice ball (often triangle-shaped) with a variety of savory or sweet fillings, often wrapped in nori (seaweed) and/or sprinkled with furikake (a seasoning made from nori, sesame seeds, sugar, salt, and spices). Kids will make onigiri with a range of fillings, including spam, tempeh, avocado, greens, and fruit.
November: Fruit Shortcakes - Shortcake is a classic Midwest American dessert. A shortcake is a soft dough, somewhere between a cake and a pastry, that is shaped, filled or topped with fruit, and baked. It’s typically served with whipped cream or custard. Kids will make multiple small shortcakes with a choice of various fruit fillings and toppings.
December: Christmas Cookies - Kids will make Christmas cookies, also known as sugar cookies, cutting them into various shapes and decorating them with homemade colored icing and colored sugar sprinkles.
