Kathy has a Certificate and a Diploma in Art and a Bachelor of Visual Arts from RMIT. Kathy has been teaching art for 15 years and has exhibited regularly in both Melbourne and overseas during this time. Kathy has been involved with the City of Whitehorse Artist in Schools program and has participated in two overseas Artist Residencies. Kathy teaches visual arts to children and adults at Box Hill Community Arts Centre where she also works in the office in a part-time administrative role.
Kathy makes work in several mediums around a central motif or theme. This central motif is usually either the suburban landscape we live and work in or the wider Australian landscape and the often-troubled relationship between the two. Kathy's paintings, ceramics and lino-prints are a personal response to these environments through the use of colour, line, movement and surface.
