In "Landscape Under the Skin," Peña blends human figures with natural elements and rejects portrait conventions by embracing synchronized realities, underscoring our inseparability from the Earth, incorporating roots, seeds, leaves, and trunks. Faces transform into nature through intimate dialogue, emphasising profound interconnectedness.

Created in 2020 between Australia and Colombia, this exhibition is an official contribution to Cultural Diversity Week and is proudly sponsored by the Whitehorse City Council.

The exhibition opening on Friday 15 March, 5pm – 7pm, will be followed by the Hispanic Society of Victoria's Tertulia, 7-10 pm, and as part of it Maria will give a talk about her work.

In addition, the Tertulia offers a supper, music and dance and costs $20 - $35.
