In August, we will host a combined Urban Harvest including Strathdon House Volunteers, Box Hill South Urban Harvest, and New Hope Baptist Harvest Swap. Come and take part in a group discussion on all things vegetable gardening. A harvest will be available to take. Feel free to bring any excess harvest to swap.
Our guest speaker is Stuart Muir Wilson from the Ecological Justice Hub in Brunswick. Stuart has a passion for connecting the dots and empowering others, Stuart's systems thinking approach to sustainability, environmental work, social justice, business and project management has led to creating real change with a lasting impact. This can be seen in his Melbourne based project at Jesuit Social Services Ecological Justice Hub in Brunswick - a large permaculture garden with several successful environmental initiatives.
There will also be a garden workshop activity, garden and house tours, and a pop-up soup stand!
The group is made up of both seasoned and novice growers, and the event is organised by Whitehorse Urban Harvest and Strathdon House volunteers.
