Meet Emily
Emily graduated in Fine Arts from Monash University and is currently studying a Masters in Art Curatorship at the University of Melbourne. She is an emerging artist and curator and her artistic practice is multidisciplinary with specialisation in painting and textile craftwork. Informed by personal experiences her work examines themes surrounding queer identity, womanhood, self-portraiture, domesticity, relationships and intergenerational collaboration.
Inspiration
Emily's artistic style is influenced by contemporary painting techniques and she uses photographic references of herself, friends and family members to inspire her more figurative paintings. Emily acknowledges that her art practice has been informed by painting techniques taught by Prudence Flint and Kristina Tsoulis-Reay throughout her Bachelor of Fine Art degree.
